The Aruba Airport Authority NV (AAA) and the JetBlue General Manager recently welcomed the inaugural flight from Newark to the One Happy Island.

The airline is getting ready to launch 24 new routes during the remainder of 2020, and Newark was selected as the first location to connect the US with our paradise Caribbean island. It’s worth noting that Aruba has been considered one of the most important markets to JetBlue due to the “increasing demand for leisure travels.”

The AUA airport hosted an event to celebrate and welcome the first flight to the One Happy Island with a small group of guests. During the celebration, all the attendees were asked to follow the safety and hygiene measures set by local authorities.

Tourists from Newark can now travel to Aruba on Saturdays and Sundays on a nonstop flight. This inaugural flight and all the new routes are part of a strategic plan by JetBlue to accelerate its recovery and strengthen the tourism industry.
